A True Any Purpose Compute/Communicate/Control Engine

I am aware of a breakthrough in computing and programming technology that is going to make the specialization and dedication of the compute engine to a particular purpose obsolete for any use other than man portable. I have written in the past about successful attempts by Microsoft to integrate their compute platform into the enterprise space by hosting a single application on a powerful platform for common use by the industrial net. My word for this in the old animusal days was dog, lets just call it a dedicated stick for now. It did the job to spec, never broke unless pushed beyond spec (I guess), and had the Microsoft support and impremeteur backing it. No more. The new engines can do an entire mid-sized work plant single handedly BUT REQUIRE AND PROBABLY WILL REQUIRE AT LEAST CUSTOM TUNING of the Linux OS. Never fear Microsoft. The paucity of capacity of your OS to do serious harm to the user space will make it a strong seller to the user at large for the forseeable future. I mean really, who wants to put a platform capable of hosting a graceful shedding missile defense battle grid in the hands of a mid schooler? I MEAN REALLY? Apple, you still have your principle profit engine of glossy polished man portable gear to earn from... But maybe you both could benefit from a distributed and dense enough national grid of supergear to communicate AND compute with with a truly useful bandwidth of capacity... Just speculate. Remember, battery power not spent on onboard processing can be DIVERT ALL POWER TO PHASERS SCOTTY used for communication bandwidth.

Now the question... Who gets the new supergear? For a time the distribution of the supercube will be cost constricted, but that won't last for long. And it is certainly in the interest of all peoples to foster a cadre of high powered compute capable youth. Unfortunatly the capacity to manufacture, design and interact with these devices and their inevitably VAST array of peripherals lies exclusively with the Western philosophy nations for now. Wafers are EXPENSIVE, chip fab is SOOO sensitive to contamination that women can't be allowed to work in the clean rooms and the gear itself is so sensitive to transport kinetic shock that it MUST be assembled on site... Not the stuff to sell to poorer nations that will just inadvertently break it. Except the peripherals. I am going to take the time today to go to the web and snoop around for OTHER gear that my government doesn't want me to have and buy some. And when we find an attack invulnerable alternative to BLUE TOOTH we will be sure to let you know.
